Job Description:

The Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services is seeking an experienced AION Developer to design, develop, and maintain complex, mission-critical applications that support essential DHHS programs. In this role, you'll leverage your AION, .NET, C++, or C# skills to build scalable, secure solutions, mentor others, and drive innovation within the N-FOCUS system. Examples of Work

• Design, develop, and deploy solutions to support DHHS N-FOCUS applications.
• Maintain the performance, scalability, and security of all DHHS applications.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex production issues under tight timeframes, occasionally support after-hours production incidents.
• Conduct testing to ensure high-quality deliverables.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to refine business requirements into technical solutions.
• Document technical solutions, application architecture, and development processes.
• Lead small-to-medium projects or components of larger projects, providing clear project plans, timelines, and status reports.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior developers and peers.
• Must have strong technical, organization and planning, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. 
• Must be able to communicate effectively across multiple platforms and handle issues in a professional manner.
• Responsible for working with business analysts to analyze and design enhancements and modifications for DHHS  solutions.

Requirements / Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications: A bachelor's degree or equivalent in computer science, information systems, mathematics, engineering or other related field and two years of experience, education, or training in coding computer applications; programming experience can be substituted for education on a year for year basis.

Preferred Qualifications:

• At least 3 years software design, development, and implementation experience with .Net, C++, C# or the Aion toolset, version 11 or above.  Experience must be in support of a large, complex application in a Microsoft Windows client.
• At least 3 years' experience with relational databases, including logical design and understanding of physical design components.
• At least 3 years' experience translating complex relational database tables into an object model design supporting a large Aion application.  Experience translating business requirements to an object model design, including defining the interface between business tasks and a large existing data model.  Experience taking advantage of inheritance and polymorphism in implementing that design.  Experience blending new class structures into a large existing Aion application. 
• At least 3 years' experience with configuration management of Aion objects using SVN Version Manager.
• At least 5 years full lifecycle software development experience.  Software development experience must be in support of a large, complex application system.

Other: This is an on-site position at the Nebraska State Office Building in Lincoln. No remote work.
