Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Dietary Aide to join our team in providing exceptional food service in a nursing home or hospital setting. The Dietary Aide plays a crucial role in meal preparation, food handling, and ensuring that all dietary needs of our residents are met with care and attention. This position requires a strong commitment to cleanliness and sanitation standards while working collaboratively with the culinary team.

Duties

  • Assist in the preparation and serving of meals according to dietary guidelines.
  • Ensure all food items are prepared, cooked, and served in compliance with safety and sanitation regulations.
  • Maintain cleanliness in the kitchen and dining areas, including washing dishes and sanitizing surfaces.
  • Support the culinary team in food production tasks as needed.
  • Help with inventory management by restocking supplies and reporting shortages.
  • Communicate effectively with nursing staff regarding residents' dietary restrictions and preferences.
  • Participate in training sessions to enhance knowledge of food handling procedures and dietary needs.

Requirements

  • Previous experience as a Dietary Aide or in the food industry is preferred.
  • Knowledge of meal preparation techniques and food production processes.
  • Familiarity with sanitation practices and food safety regulations.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills to interact positively with residents, staff, and visitors.
  • Must be able to follow instructions accurately and work as part of a team.
  • A passion for providing high-quality service to enhance the dining experience for residents.
