Optometric Assistant

Optometry practice seeking a motivated, dependable, and personable individual to join our team We are hiring an ophthalmic assistant/techician for a full-time position to provide exceptional care for our patients.
Duties
- Assist optometrist with patient care, including taking patient history and performing preliminary and diagnostic tests.
- Prepare examination rooms and equipment for patient visits.
- Open and close exam lanes daily.
- Administer eye drops as directed by the optometrist.
- Assist with contact lens fittings and teach patients how to insert, remove, and care for their lenses.
- Maintain inventory and order supplies for office and exam rooms.
- Handle administrative tasks, such as scheduling appointments, answering and triaging phone calls, process patient check-in and check-out, verifying insurance information, organizing and reconciling documents.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect patient privacy.
Requirements
- Computer/technology skills - ability to learn and operate various technology equipment in the office; knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and interpersonal skills for interacting with patients of all ages.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks.
- Collaborate well with others.
- Retail sales experience is a plus.
- Provide exceptional customer service.

Works Hours
Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Saturday: 8:00 AM -1:30 PM
