Position Summary

The RN Nurse Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day clinical operations of the Short-Term Rehab Unit, ensuring high standards of patient care, compliance with all regulatory requirements, and effective coordination between staff, residents, and families. This position plays a key leadership role in mentoring nursing staff, promoting a culture of excellence, and supporting the facility's mission of delivering exceptional rehabilitative care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate all nursing activities on the short-term rehab unit.
  • Ensure delivery of high-quality, evidence-based nursing care in accordance with facility policies, state, and federal regulations.
  • Provide leadership, guidance, and evaluation for nursing staff, including RNs, LPNs, and CNAs.
  • Monitor patient progress and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and update care plans.
  • Foster a supportive, patient-centered environment that promotes respect and dignity for all residents.
  • Ensure compliance with infection control, safety, and quality assurance standards.
  • Act as a liaison between nursing staff, physicians, therapists, residents, and families.
  • Participate in audits, quality improvement initiatives, and care planning meetings.

Qualifications

  • Current and valid RN license in the State of New York (NYS).
  • Minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience in a skilled nursing, rehabilitation, or long-term care setting.
  • Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills.
  • Proven leadership and team management abilities.
  • Knowledge of state and federal healthcare regulations.
  • Experience with EMR systems and strong organizational skills.
  • Commitment to quality care, resident satisfaction, and staff development.
