Internship positions at Lochner provide college students with an opportunity to gain real world experience in a specific area of study. Working in a fast-paced professional setting provides interns with invaluable experiences applying the knowledge and skills learned through education in a business environment while working with and in support of a group of professionals in your chosen field of study.

Your Impact

• Perform engineering design tasks such as roadway and bridge design under the direction of an experienced Project Manager.
• Manage and maintain project documentation.

Who You Are

• BS in Civil Engineering or pursuing your BS in Civil Engineering
• 0-2 years of experience
• EIT certification or the ability to obtain one within 6 months from date of Full Time Hire
• Open to interning this Summer 2026

Work Environment

The work environment characteristics described are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Physical Requirements

The physical requirements must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Intermittent sitting, walking, standing, bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, twisting, stoop, crawl, and lifting. The employee must frequently lift and/or move light equipment up to 20 pounds. Must be alert to equipment in the field, occasional need to work near hazardous equipment and machinery, occasional need to walk on uneven ground, exposure to dust, gas or fumes, exposure to noise, extremes in temperature or humidity, and potential work at heights.
