Credit Manager

Wallwork Financial has an exciting opportunity to join our team in Fargo, ND Due to an upcoming promotion, we are seeking an experienced professional to manage our company's Credit function. This role is integral to our portfolio management efforts – managing the credit risk on new business all the way through collection/workout/recovery efforts on stressed accounts, in addition to maintaining the company's policies and procedures. The ideal candidate for this role must be resilient, have good time management skills, and be adaptable to the ever-changing landscape in the world Wallwork Financial operates in – equipment finance.

Key Responsibilities:

Credit Management:

• Evaluate creditworthiness of applicants through financial statement analysis, credit reports, and risk assessment tools.
• Approve or recommend credit decisions within delegated authority levels.
• Develop and maintain credit policies and procedures to ensure compliance and mitigate risk.
• Supervise internal credit team.
• Monitor existing accounts for early signs of delinquency or deterioration.
• Collaborate with sales, underwriting, and collections teams to support deal structuring and resolution strategies.
• Prepare and present credit reviews and portfolio performance reports to senior management.
• Stay current on industry trends, regulatory changes, and economic indicators affecting credit risk.
• Assist in training and mentoring credit, operations, and sales staff.

Special Asset Management

• Lead the resolution of non-performing and high-risk accounts through restructuring, repossession, or liquidation strategies.
• Develop and execute asset recovery plans in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
• Monitor and report on asset performance, risk exposure, and recovery outcomes.
• Design and implement proactive collection strategies to reduce delinquency and improve cash flow.
• Supervise internal collections team and manage third-party relationships.
• Analyze portfolio trends and recommend policy adjustments to improve collection efficiency.
• Serve as the primary liaison with legal counsel on litigation, bankruptcy, and contract enforcement matters.
• Oversee documentation and legal compliance related to asset recovery, settlements, and write-offs.
• Ensure adherence to federal, state, and industry regulations governing collections and asset management.

Qualifications:

Required:

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field
• 6+ years of experience in commercial credit analysis with 2+ years in a manager capacity
• Strong understanding of financial statements, cash flow analysis, and credit scoring models
• Excellent analytical, negotiation and communication skills.
• Ability to make sound judgments under pressure and manage multiple priorities

Preferred:

• Master's degree in related field
• Strong understanding of UCC filings, repossession laws, and litigation/bankruptcy proceedings.
• Proven leadership in managing distressed portfolios and driving recovery outcomes.
