We're seeking an experienced Senior Project Engineer to join our Alternative Delivery team on a large, high-profile infrastructure project in the Barstow, CA area. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys solving complex challenges, and is ready to grow within a reputable and forward-thinking construction organization.

Candidates with experience in heavy civil rail or pre-construction services are especially encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze and prepare cost estimates and change orders.
  • Support and monitor project controls, budgets, schedules, and forecasting.
  • Develop and maintain detailed project schedules (including weekly and monthly CPM updates).
  • Lead and mentor project engineering staff to ensure timely and high-quality deliverables.
  • Coordinate and oversee multiple project phases, including subcontractors, vendors, and self-performed work.
  • Ensure field operations align with project goals, schedule, and budget requirements.
  • Review and interpret design documents, ensuring compliance with specifications and safety standards.
  • Collaborate with project management and client representatives to resolve design and field issues.
  • Prepare project reports, budgets, and documentation as required.
  • Provide technical guidance and problem-solving support to field teams.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (preferred).
  • Minimum 5–8 years of relevant experience in heavy civil or alternative delivery projects.
  • Strong understanding of critical path scheduling, cost control, and project documentation.
  • Proficient with Build2Win, SketchUp, and Bluebeam.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 Certification preferred.
  • First Aid, CPR/AED, and QSP for SWPPP certifications are a plus.

Work Environment
