Overview

As an Information System Security Officer (ISSO), you will play a critical role in safeguarding essential state-wide systems that support millions of residents. You will ensure compliance with federal security requirements by leading continuous monitoring, maintaining control documentation, and automating compliance tracking through ServiceNow GRC. Your work will directly strengthen the security posture of vital state services, enabling secure and reliable operations across the entire state.

What you'll do

  • Lead the development and maintenance of all RMF documentation including System Security Plans (SSPs), Security Assessment Reports (SARs), POA&Ms, Contingency Plans, and Incident Response Plans.
  • Utilize ServiceNow GRC to automate control monitoring, evidence collection, and remediation tracking.
  • Perform continuous monitoring activities and coordinate with security engineers and auditors to validate control effectiveness.
  • Manage workflow of control implementation and review through ServiceNow dashboards and modules.
  • Analyze API-integrated data feeds (vulnerability scans, ticketing, or configuration management tools) for compliance validation.
  • Support preparation and execution of Authorization to Operate (ATO) packages.
  • Provide regular compliance reporting, audit support, and risk analysis to system owners.
  • Ensure alignment with NIST SP 800-37, SP 800-53, and FISMA requirements.

Basic qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Assurance, or related field.
  • Experience with ServiceNow GRC platform configuration, workflow management, and reporting.
  • 5+ years of experience managing RMF documentation and federal security compliance.

Preferred qualifications

  • Certifications such as CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional) or CISM (Certified Information Security Manager).
  • Proficiency in Cisco ISE (Identity Services Engine), Cisco ASA (Adaptive Security Appliance), AWS (Amazon Web Services), Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
  • Familiarity with scripting languages such as Python or PowerShell for automation tasks.
  • Experience with virtualization technologies like VMware or Citrix.
