The Business Analyst will serve as a key liaison between business operations, quality assurance, and technical teams. This role combines traditional business analysis responsibilities with quality monitoring and compliance oversight to ensure accurate, efficient, and compliant processes. Reporting to the Quality Control (QC) team, the Business Analyst will analyze business requirements, monitor operational performance, and contribute to quality initiatives that enhance member and provider experiences. They will exercise independent judgment within defined practices and procedures to determine appropriate action and act as an informed team member providing analysis of information and limited project direction input. In addition, the Business Analyst will follow established guidelines and interpret policies, evaluate unique circumstances, and make recommendations. This role also provides support for operational reporting (e.g., assisting with dashboards and KPI tracking using widely used BI tools).

Your role in our mission

  • Formulates and defines system scope and objectives using knowledge of information technology and industry knowledge/requirements.
  • Gathers information from the system, analyzes program and time requirements, and prepares documentation to change existing programs.
  • Evaluates unique circumstances and makes recommendations.
  • Acts as a liaison between client and technical solutions/support groups, using strong communication skills to elicit, document, analyze and validate business processes, systems, and solution requirements.
  • Researches, identifies, and specifies solutions to problems.
  • Supports and conducts visualization, user experience, and configuration elements of solution design.
  • Documents require specifications using high-maturity methods, processes, and tools.
  • Supports requirements management and change management processes.
  • Supports aspects of the business cycle, including proposals, feasibility studies, and implementations.
  • Considers the business implications of the application of technology to the current business environment.

What We're Looking For

  • 4+ years of business analysis experience
  • 2+ years in quality assurance or compliance preferred
  • Experience working with business processes and re-engineering, and strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience with requirements determination using structured techniques for documentation, analysis, and evaluation/validation
  • Experience working with computer programming concepts and basic language
  • Interpersonal skills, presentation skills to present to management and customers, and personal computer and business solutions software skills
  • Proficiency with Excel (e.g., PivotTables, lookups); exposure to common BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, or similar).
  • Ability to write basic SQL queries (SELECT, JOIN) for data review and validation.
  • Understanding of KPIs and data quality concepts; attention to detail when interpreting report results.
  • Awareness of data privacy practices (e.g., handling of PII/PHI) in a healthcare context

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2+ years in quality assurance or compliance
  • Experience in healthcare or Medicaid environments.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and adapt to change.

What You Should Expect In This Role

  • Must reside within commuting (1Hr driving) distance of Anchorage, AK for this hybrid position, preferred.
  • Residents of Alaska may also be considered for remote option
  • Office/Work-from-Home/Hybrid Work-from-home (WFH); or Hybrid model including in-office and WFH days to be defined. For positions assigned to WFH, reliable high-speed internet connectivity is required. Employees working-from-home may be required to report to the office, at times, to support work efforts.
  • Video cameras must be used during all interviews, as well as during the initial week of orientation

The pay range for this position is $59, $85,000.00 per year, however, the base pay offered may vary depending on geographic region, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.
