We are looking for a Principal Technical Program Manager to lead the development of our next-generation Store architecture. The ideal candidate will drive complex technical programs across multiple teams, balancing tactical needs with strategic vision. They will create and execute multi-year roadmaps in collaboration with senior leaders, Product Managers, and Engineers. They will build scalable mechanisms to address both internal engineering and customer needs, using data-driven decision making to set priorities and develop key metrics. They will possess strong communication skills for effective stakeholder management at all levels. They will have proven experience delivering large-scale technical programs, excellent analytical skills, and a passion for innovative customer and developer experiences.
Key job responsibilities
As a part of this job, you will own a large and complex program portfolio and focus on challenging problems, like:
- Setting up program mechanisms to drive alignment of the program and goal delivery with the delivery across 10+ contributing teams.
- Holding leaders across product and engineering accountable for their deliverables at the quality and timelines expected by our customers.
- Looking around corners to identify risks, tradeoffs and propose mitigations. Drive these decisions and the decision making process to be fast, simple and lowest friction.
- Delivering communication about program direction, status and future that is simple, precise and actionable to various levels of senior leaders, internal customers as well as engineers delivering on the program.
About the team
- You will lead delivery of cross-organizational and highly ambitious outcomes.
- You will own the roadmap planning, prioritization, and communication with stakeholders.
- You will work with cross functional leaders in a diverse organization learning from them, influencing them and bringing them together to align on a single, well-articulate path forward.
- You will identify obstacles and define strategies to mitigate the risks and be central in making high-judgement tradeoff decisions.

- 7+ years of technical product or program management experience
- 10+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience
- 5+ years of software development experience
- Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules
- 8+ years of hands-on work managing complex technology projects experience

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $159,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $275,300/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
