Job Summary

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Barista to join our team in creating exceptional coffee experiences for our customers. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in customer service and food preparation, with a keen interest in the café environment. As a Barista, you will be responsible for crafting Italian coffee and gelato while also maintaining cleanliness, and providing outstanding service to ensure customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and serve a variety of coffee and tea beverages according to established recipes and standards.
  • Prepare and serve gelato.
  • Engage with customers to take orders, provide recommendations, and ensure a positive experience.
  • Handle cash transactions accurately and efficiently while maintaining cash handling protocols.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the café area, including equipment, utensils, and seating areas.
  • Assist in food preparation and presentation as needed, adhering to food handling guidelines.
  • Monitor inventory levels of coffee beans, milk, syrups, and other supplies; communicate needs to management.
  • Maintain stock levels of pastries and gelato on display.
  • Uphold health and safety standards at all times.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations during peak hours.

Experience

  • Previous experience in food service or café environment is preferred but not required.
  • Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage positively with customers.
  • Basic knowledge of food handling practices and retail math is beneficial.
  • Excellent time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • A passion for coffee and an eagerness to learn about Italy
