About the Role

Are you a creative problem-solver with a passion for technology and precision? We're looking for an experienced Audio Visual Engineer to join our Raleigh team and help design, document, and support complex AV systems that connect people and power collaboration.

In this role, you'll work closely with our sales, design, and operations teams to deliver solutions that blend functionality, innovation, and technical excellence. From discovery and design to documentation and handoff, you'll be a key player in ensuring every system performs flawlessly and every client's vision becomes reality.

What You'll Do – Design with Clarity. Engineer with Precision.

  • Collaborate Early: Partner with sales teams during pre-sales to understand client needs, project goals, and technical requirements.
  • Lead Discovery: Conduct detailed site surveys and design meetings to gather the information needed for accurate, scalable AV system designs.
  • Engineer Complete Solutions: Develop end-to-end system designs covering video, audio, control, and networking components.
  • Document with Detail: Produce comprehensive drawing packages, including floor plans, elevations, line diagrams, rack layouts, and cable schedules.
  • Develop Accurate Proposals: Create estimates that include materials, labor, and functional scopes, ensuring alignment with project budgets and client expectations.
  • Communicate with Confidence: Present and review design scopes with clients, answering questions and ensuring full understanding of system capabilities.
  • Support Project Handoffs: Lead internal engineering meetings with Project Managers and field technicians to review plans and ensure smooth installation execution.
  • Maintain Quality: Provide design updates, documentation, and support throughout the project life cycle to keep all teams aligned and informed.
  • Contribute to Continuous Improvement: Participate in bi-weekly engineering meetings to share feedback, improve processes, and maintain design consistency.

What You Bring

  • 5+ years of audiovisual system design or engineering experience.
  • Strong understanding of AV system integration, including signal flow, DSP programming, video conferencing, and control systems.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD, Bluebeam Revu, Visio, or similar design and documentation software.
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings, RFPs, and technical diagrams.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively across sales, operations, and field teams.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • AVIXA CTS certification required (CTS-D preferred).
  • DSP certification (Biamp or QSC) and design certifications (Crestron or Extron) strongly preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Why Join Us?

  • Impact: Help design and deliver audiovisual systems that empower communication and innovation.
  • Innovation: Work hands-on with cutting-edge AV technologies and design tools.
  • Collaboration: Partner with experienced engineers, project managers, and technicians who share your passion for excellence.
  • Growth: Build your expertise in a company that values professional development and technical mastery.
  • Culture: Join a team that takes pride in both the work and the people behind it.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

  • Primarily office-based with occasional site visits for surveys and client meetings.
  • Regular sitting, standing, walking, and use of computer-based design software.
  • Occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds.
  • Work may be performed in active construction environments—adherence to safety protocols required.
