FINISH CARPENTER

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Complete task specific Finish Carpentry work at residential job sites
  • Install laminate, baseboards, crown molding, window casings, and door trim, chair rail, windows
  • Install cabinets, shelving units, and custom furniture
  • Fit and hang doors, as well as installing window casings and sashes
  • Install wood flooring and other finishes
  • Furniture restoration, stain/varnish is a plus
  • Proficient understanding of various techniques like jointing, fitting, veneering, and finishing (e.g., sanding, staining, and painting).
  • Mastery with Table saw, Miter saw, Jig saw, Palm Sander, Belt Sander, Block Sander, Multi tool, Router, chisel, mallet, hammer, screw drivers, drills, etc.
  • Working closely with other trades, such as plumbing and electrical, to ensure a cohesive final product.
  • Accurately measure and cut materials to ensure precise fits
  • Make onsite recommendations and effectively communicate with main office
  • Apply finishing techniques such as sanding, staining, and painting to wood surfaces
  • Make adjustments and repairs to existing structures to improve aesthetics
  • Technical Mold Remediation skills with moisture detection and control and safe removal of contaminated materials
  • Maintain a tidy workspace, disposing of waste materials properly
  • Ensure a safe working environment by following safety protocols and using proper personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Collaborate with other contractors and clients to understand project requirements and timelines
  • Provide updates on progress and any challenges encountered to main office

Educational Requirements:

  • High School degree required
  • Certificate or degrees in any field of construction

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must have at least 3 years of experience in finish carpentry.
  • Fluent in English and Spanish is required
  • Appearance that reflects favorably on Florida Construction Services
  • Must have a valid driver's license and a clean driving record to ensure safe and reliable transportation to and from job sites
  • May be asked to drive a company vehicle and maintain it in a clean and organized fashion, keeping it stocked with the equipment and supplies necessary to perform work required at job sites
  • Knowledge of general carpentry, installation and finishing techniques, site management, tools and team planning
  • Skilled in using hand tools and power tools specific to finishing work
  • Effective written/verbal communicator amongst colleagues and clientele
  • Ability to interpret construction plans and specifications
  • Attention to detail and a keen eye for aesthetics
  • Physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy materials
  • Code updates and training through Florida's continuing education courses
  • Must be able to pass drug test
  • Must be able to pass a background check (a clean record is required)
  • Must be polite and have a strong work ethic

General Contractor based out of South Florida with over 20 years of Commercial and Residential experience in the Construction Restoration field. We service the tri-county areas and is seeking a Finish Carpenter to play an important role in our company's on-site residential construction projects. You will be working directly with a team who handles residential remodeling projects and help define the culture and potential growth of the company by identifying areas of improvement and addressing project management needs, engagement and value.

The ideal candidate is someone who has construction and carpentry experience as well as a dependable and engaging personality.
