Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated Pet Grooming Salon Assistant to join our team in providing exceptional pet care and grooming services. The salon is located in Sunrise, Florida.

This role involves assisting with grooming procedures, handling animals safely, and supporting the overall operations of our pet grooming salon. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animals, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Prior experience with animal handling, pet grooming, or veterinary assistance is highly valued.

Duties

  • Assist groomers with bathing, drying, and grooming pets according to salon standards
  • Safely handle animals during grooming and other salon activities, ensuring their comfort and safety
  • Restrain pets appropriately during grooming procedures using animal restraint techniques
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of grooming tools and work areas
  • Support customer interactions by providing friendly service and answering basic questions about pet care services
  • Assist with kennel cleaning and animal care duties as required
  • Heavy lifting of animals or supplies may be necessary to ensure smooth daily operations

Skills

  • Experience or knowledge in dog training, veterinary technician work, or veterinary assistant roles is a plus
  • Strong animal handling skills, including dog handling and animal restraint techniques
  • Knowledge of pet grooming practices and animal care procedures
  • Ability to provide excellent customer service in a friendly and professional manner
  • Animal handling skills for dogs
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work well within a team environment
  • Prior kennel experience or pet sitting background is beneficial but not required
