Schedule: Tuesday-Friday, Saturday 4-8:30PM, Sunday 8AM-12:30PM

Job Purpose and Goals:
The position of Associate Director (Worship Leader) is primarily responsible for leading the church in key aspects of corporate gatherings (planning and execution of weekend services and other events, volunteer development, creative input, etc.). This is primarily accomplished in a collaborative context alongside other staff Worship leaders under the direction of the Managing Director of Corporate Gatherings, but also involves frequent interaction with Production Team members, Worship Coordinators, the Teaching Team, and the church's Communications department.
While this person must be comfortable on stage and possess musical/creative gifts, it is equally (if not more) important for this person to exhibit a passionate and honest walk with Jesus, biblical literacy, a servant's heart, and a longing to see God glorified in gatherings.
We currently have three (3) Associate Director (Worship Leader) openings. Each of the three (3) "seats" has a different "focus" while also sharing overlapping collaborative "key roles" with the other seats. The focuses are Creative, Volunteer, and Next Gen. Below is a list of both focused and shared key roles.

Key "Focused" Roles + Responsibilities for each of the three (3) "seats" are:
- Creative Focus
- Creative Oversight
- Serve as the Worship Leader voice in series planning meetings with Teaching Team and Communications
- Develop and implement a collection of non-musical situational creative service elements that align with the church's corporate worship philosophy
- Steward a consistent creative aesthetic in our worship environments through regular interaction with Managing Director, other Worship Leaders, and Production Team
- Weekend Stage Leadership
- Serve as primary lead vocalist in services 2-3 times per month while providing pre-rehearsal, rehearsal, and in-service direction to bandmates and production team as needed
- Contribute intentional, complementary congregational direction in the form of scripture readings, crafted words, prayer, road mapping, etc.
- Take part in trimesterly, monthly, and weekly Worship Leader planning meetings in partnership with the Managing Director
- Congregational Event Point
- Take the lead on planning/executing worship nights and similar events
- Partner with our other ministries as needed to provide worship or entertainment options for all-church socials
- Serve as the main point of contact for any multi-church worship opportunities or collaborative events
- Volunteer Focus
- Volunteer Care Oversight
- Regularly check-in on and meet with volunteers to get their feedback on their serving experience
- Provide encouragements, constructive critique, and development opportunities as needed
- Contribute to church, team, and individual flourishing through ongoing conversations about accountability to important ministry-specific and Christian standards regarding our thoughts, words, and actions
- Weekly Stage Leadership

- Non-Congregational Point
- Lead our staff in times of musical worship, prayer, or reflection (monthly staff meeting, weekly staff call, special staff events)
- Provide worship leader support for any conferences meeting on our campus as needed (priority is main weekends services)
- Support high priority trainings and workshops (Rethink, Solitude Retreats, etc.) with simple, tailored worship offerings
- Next Gen Focus
- Scheduling Oversight
- Prepare, arrange, and distribute collaborative worship sets and materials (service plans, scheduling messages, chord charts, instrument/vocal/production notes, file transposing, etc.)
- Manage worship tools and systems (PCO, Mainstage, etc.) and train others to do the same with weekend service-level proficiency
- Develop other band leaders/music directors within the worship arts pipeline
- Weekend Stage Leadership
- Directs bands 2-3 weekends per month through pre-rehearsal, rehearsal, and in-service instrumentation and direction to bandmates (and production team as needed) in support of and alignment with the Worship Leader
- Ability to serve on a spot basis as an up-front Worship Leader or provide Production Team coverage in audio, lighting, or slides
- Take part in trimester, monthly, and weekly Worship Leader planning meetings in partnership with the Managing Director
- Next Gen Point
- Responsible for developing the volunteer pipeline from, and establishing a priority serving order between, Youth/College and Weekend Services
- Set a vision and delegative framework in Youth/College that allows for people in those ministries to be and feel empowered in what they do
- Pilot more opportunities for Youth/College to inject life and perspective into weekend services
Key "Shared" Roles + Responsibilities for all "seats" are:
- Song Writing + Selection
- Help choose a trimester song rotation to be used in weekend services that aligns with the church's theology, philosophy of worship, and cultural context
- Collaborate in the creation of new songs, with a goal of utilizing 50% original music within three years
- Help form a demographically representative team made up of staff and laypeople to evaluate the song choices we make for congregational worship and be part of leading those conversations
- Resourcing + Support
- Assist with stage design both individually and through volunteer sourcing
- Assist with weddings, funerals, and concerts as needed and available
- Lead auditions, training sessions, and other team development/building activities

Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree preferred
- 3-5 years of relevant experience in a local church (or similar)
- 3-5 years of experience leading worship in a local church (or similar)
- Ability to lead from an instrument (guitar or keys), preferred but not required
- Basic working knowledge of ProPresenter, chord charts, Planning Center, stage plotting, band/music dynamics, and equipment set-up
- Ability to lead, speak, and counsel from a biblical worldview
