Manufacturing Engineer II

Location: Boulder, Colorado

The Manufacturing Engineering position will focus on supporting sustaining optimization projects and qualifications.  Responsibilities of this position will include project management, validation procedures, manufacturing job instructions, execution of the validation, compilation of reports, coordinating of tasks and creating engineering change orders.  The role will interact directly with the manufacturing operators, supplier quality engineers, operations quality engineers, and design engineers to ensure proper qualification plan is followed.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.

  • Provide engineering support for our Polyhesive Pads and Cool Tip manufacturing lines ensuring optimal operation, performance, and adherence to policy.
  • Manage changing priorities and respond quickly to challenges in a fast-paced, dynamic manufacturing environment.
  • Design, develop, and improve manufacturing processes, procedures, and production layouts for product assembly, equipment installation, and material handling.
  • Work closely with R&D, Quality, and other cross-functional teams to drive the integration of new technologies, process changes, and continuous improvements.
  • Validate new components, systems, and process changes to ensure product performance, quality, and efficiency.
  • Inspects performance of machinery, equipment, and tools to verify their efficiency, and investigates and initiates corrective action of problems and deficiencies to ensure product quality.
  • Adapts machine or equipment design to factory and production conditions.
  • Ensure all manufacturing processes, equipment, and procedures comply with industry regulations and standards, with a focus on maintaining safety and product integrity.
  • Evaluate and disposition non-conforming material

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.

  • Designs manufacturing processes, procedures and production layouts for assemblies, equipment installation, processing, machining and material handling.
  • Designs arrangement of machines within plant facilities to ensure most efficient and productive layout.
  • Designs sequence of operations and specifies procedures for the fabrication of tools and equipment and other functions that affect product performance.
  • Adapts machine or equipment design to factory and production conditions.
  • May incorporate inspection and test requirements into the production plan.
  • Inspects performance of machinery, equipment, and tools to verify their efficiency, and investigates and initiates corrective action of problems and deficiencies to ensure product quality.
  • Develops manufacturing processes that are applicable to statistical process control, and may develop those techniques.
  • Provides guidance to engineering regarding design concepts and specification requirements to best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques.
  • Ensures processes and procedures are in compliance with regulations.

Must Have: Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelors degree required and 0 years of experience.

  • Demonstrated experience in validation.

  • Experience with statistical methods strongly preferred.
  • Experience in manufacturing and/or regulated industry strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to foster collaboration and teamwork

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$68, $102,000.00This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).

The following benefits and additional compensation are available to those regular employees who work 20+ hours per week: Health, Dental and vision insurance, Health Savings Account, Healthcare Flexible Spending Account, Life insurance, Long-term disability leave, Dependent daycare spending account, Tuition assistance/reimbursement, and Simple Steps (global well-being program).
