The Director, Industry Advisor (IA) role, operating at a strategic level with Microsoft's top automotive customers, requires deep engagement and understanding of the Automotive industry and its challenges. The ideal candidate is a subject matter expert in the Automotive industry. The Industry Advisor will act as the industry leader in a customer centric account team and will strive to build relationships and become a trusted advisor to key business decision-makers, helping them digitally transform their business.

The role of IA focuses on generating and owning industry relevant solutions and platform opportunities, working and selling closely with Microsoft and its partners. This industry sales role delivers growth of Microsoft Cloud Services by building new relationships, uncovering opportunities, shape solutions that deliver measurable impact using Microsoft's cloud, AI, and data technologies. The role will partner closely with the world-wide industry sales teams and specialist sellers to share best practices and customer references/case studies to bring Microsoft's industry digital transformation stories to life.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Health Sciences, Supply Chain, Education, Business or related field AND 5+ years customer-facing experience in operations, enterprise-level improvement program management, product management, transportation, hospitality, automotive, consumer goods, financial services, retail, management consulting, consultative selling, public sector, technology or industry-relevant equivalent management or technical work experience
  • OR Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Health Sciences, Supply Chain, Education, Business or related field AND 7+ years customer-facing experience in operations, enterprise-level improvement program management, product management, transportation, hospitality, automotive, consumer goods, financial services, retail, management consulting, consultative selling, public sector, technology or industry-relevant equivalent management or technical work experience
  • OR equivalent experience
  • Experience in Connected Vehicle, Autonomy, Software Defined Vehicle
  • Automotive Industry domain expertise

Industry Advisory IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $133,000 - $222,700 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $170,300 - $239,800 per year.

Responsibilities
  • Spark innovation to re-imagine the future by facilitating envisioning / ideation sessions and developing multi-horizon roadmaps.
  • Ignite, shape, and secure market-making business partnerships by leveraging business relationships with CxOs and Senior Business Executives.
  • Drive account-based revenue by defining and landing industry plays across Mobility accounts and helps build qualified sales pipeline.
  • Lead and orchestrate sales activities and customer engagement in partnership with account teams to deliver value, build trust, and exceed customer expectations as a strategic advisor.
  • Develop thought leadership assets and best practices that can be levered by others to increase the success of the business and Microsoft.
  • Collaborate with external partner ecosystem (e.g., business leaders, GSIs, ISVs) on client and partner planning and developing industry-specific strategies that add credibility and depth.
  • Amplify externally / internally thought leadership on unique industry perspectives and innovations to accelerate Microsoft's credibility / brand / mindshare.
  • Embody Microsoft's culture and values by modeling a growth mindset, contributing to others' success, and delivering impactful results that build on collective ideas and efforts.
