We are seeking a
Leave of Absence & Employee Accommodation Specialist
to manage and optimize leave programs, workplace accommodations, and workers' compensation across our growing tech organization. This role ensures compliance with federal, state, and local regulations while fostering a supportive, inclusive, and positive employee experience. The Specialist will be the go-to partner for employees and managers on leave and accommodation matters, providing guidance, tracking, and end-to-end case management that balances organizational goals with employee well-being.

Key Responsibilities

Leave & Accommodation Administration

  • Oversee the end-to-end lifecycle of leaves of absence, including FMLA, state-specific leaves, ADA accommodations, personal leaves, and other company programs.
  • Advise employees, managers, and HR Business Partners on leave eligibility, process requirements, and smooth return-to-work planning.
  • Coordinate reasonable accommodations under ADA, collaborating with employees, leadership, and legal as needed.
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure timely, transparent communication throughout the leave process.

Workers' Compensation

  • Manage workers' compensation claims, ensuring prompt reporting, documentation, and compliance with state regulations.
  • Partner with third-party administrators and leadership to resolve claims and facilitate safe, efficient return-to-work plans.
  • Analyze claims data to identify trends and provide insights to inform prevention strategies.

Compliance & Reporting

  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local leave laws, including FMLA, ADA, state paid family leave, and workers' compensation regulations.
  • Safeguard sensitive employee information and maintain confidentiality in line with HIPAA and data privacy standards.
  • Develop and share reports on leave trends, utilization, and compliance metrics to guide business decisions.

Employee Experience & Service Delivery

  • Deliver empathetic, high-touch support to employees navigating leaves and accommodations.
  • Partner with managers to maintain team continuity while supporting employee needs.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline processes, leverage technology, and enhance the overall employee experience.
