Job Summary

We are seeking a friendly and professional Restaurant Host/Host to create a welcoming atmosphere for our guests. The ideal candidate will manage guest seating, handle reservations, and provide exceptional customer service to ensure a memorable dining experience. This role is vital in setting the tone for our restaurant's hospitality and ensuring smooth operations from arrival to departure.

Responsibilities

  • Greet guests warmly upon arrival and manage the seating process efficiently
  • Manage reservations and waitlists using POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS
  • Answer phone calls with excellent phone etiquette, assist with inquiries, and take reservations
  • Maintain guest relations by providing friendly, attentive service and addressing guest needs promptly
  • Coordinate with servers and kitchen staff to ensure timely seating and service flow
  • Keep the host/host station organized and clean throughout shifts
  • Assist in managing guest flow during busy hours to minimize wait times and maximize guest satisfaction
  • Support other front-of-house duties as needed to enhance overall guest experience

Requirements

  • Prior experience as a host/host or in food service is preferred but not required; hospitality or hotel experience is a plus
  • Strong communication skills with an emphasis on friendly, professional interaction
  • Knowledge of POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS is advantageous
  • Excellent guest service skills with a focus on hospitality and guest relations
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Professional appearance and demeanor, with good phone etiquette
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, or holidays as needed
