Staff Scientist – TB & COVID Labs

Join the Kaushal Lab at Texas Biomedical Research Institute as a Staff Scientist, utilizing your specialized expertise to provide high-level support to research projects and contribute to cutting-edge scientific work

Our Ideal Candidate:

• Design and conduct research, contributing to scientific approaches and achieving research goals.
• Prepare research results for publication and assist with grant and contract applications.
• Mentor and provide leadership to team members, fostering accountability and positive performance.
• Advise on talent management, including hiring, performance reviews, and retention strategies.
• Maintain close collaboration with faculty and research teams.

Qualifications:

• Doctoral degree (PhD, MD, DVM, or equivalent) in a relevant discipline.
• Minimum of three years of relevant research experience.

Working Environment:

Work involves handling BSL2 and BSL3 pathogens, including Mycobacterium tuberculosis, SARS-CoV-2, and SIV. Requires moderate physical activity such as standing, walking, and handling equipment. Vaccinations may be required, and participation in medical monitoring is mandatory. Safety training and protective equipment are provided.
