Overview

Duties

  • Perform inventory management tasks, including stock counting, cycle counting, and updating inventory control records using RF scanners and warehouse management systems.
  • Operate heavy equipment such as reach trucks, forklifts, cranes, pallet jacks, and order pickers to load, unload, move, and organize materials safely and efficiently.
  • Handle materials with precision during stocking, picking & packing, shipping & receiving, and order fulfillment activities.
  • Assist in the operation of heavy machinery with mechanical knowledge to ensure safe handling of goods in manufacturing or construction-related environments.
  • Support warehouse distribution processes by load & unload activities, ensuring timely delivery of products to meet shipping deadlines.
  • Maintain compliance with OSHA safety standards by conducting regular safety checks and adhering to proper packaging procedures.
  • Collaborate with warehouse supervisors to optimize warehouse layout and improve overall warehouse management practices.

Requirements

  • Proven warehouse experience with familiarity in inventory management, order picking, packing, and shipping & receiving procedures.
  • Valid certification or experience operating reach trucks, forklifts, cranes, pallet jacks, and other heavy equipment.
  • Strong mechanical knowledge related to heavy equipment operation and materials handling techniques.
  • Experience using warehouse management systems (WMS), RF scanners, AS400 or similar enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems for inventory control.
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently for extended periods during stocking or load & unload tasks.
  • Knowledge of OSHA safety standards applicable to warehouse environments along with best practices for safe materials handling.
  • Excellent organizational skills with a keen eye for detail in inventory control and order accuracy.
  • Previous experience in manufacturing or construction environments is a plus but not required.
