Platform Engineer

The Opportunity:

Everyone is trying to "harness the cloud," but not everyone knows how. As a DevOps engineer, you're eager to develop, manage, and secure a container platform that meets your client's needs and takes advantage of cloud capabilities. We need you to develop container management software to solve some of our clients' toughest challenges. 
 
As a Platform DevOps engineer at Booz Allen, you can use your technical skills to affect mission-forward change. On our team, you'll hone your skills using the latest cloud technologies as you look for ways to improve your client's environment with current container software to ensure seamless orchestration. Using your DevOps platform experience, you'll support your team as you inform strategy and design while ensuring standards are met throughout the containerization process.

You'll recommend resources that will help your client manage and securely adopt containers. Additionally, you'll continue to strengthen your DevOps skills while supporting the development of critical cloud platforms.

You Have:

  • 5+ years of experience with DevOps and Agile methodologies  
  • 3+ years of experience with automation tools, including Terraform and Ansible, and CloudFormation or Puppet  
  • 3+ years of experience with automating system configurations and orchestrating network operations and DevOps pipelines, scaling, releases, and day-to-day system operations in Cloud environments  
  • 3+ years of experience with managing Git-based version control systems, including GitLab and GitHub  
  • 2+ years of experience with architecting and deploying applications on Amazon Web Services (AWS) or Microsoft Azure
  • TS/SCI clearance
  • HS diploma or GED
  • Ability to obtain a DoD 8570 Compliant Security+ or CISSP Certification within 60 days of start date

Nice If You Have:

  • Experience with infrastructure-as-code environments, including activities around the automated server or network configurations, large-scale software deployments, or monitoring and testing, such as continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) 
  • Experience with provisioning and managing infrastructure and applications in Cloud environments, including Amazon Web Services (AWS), Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP)  
  • Experience with system integration using a variety of protocols, including JSON, REST, and XML  
  • Experience with scripting in Bash, PowerShell, Python, Groovy, or Ruby  
  • Experience with leveraging JSON, YAML, or XML for configuration  
  • Agile Certification 
  • DevOps Certification 
  • Cloud Certification

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $77,600.00 to $176, annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees.
