Job description

A reputable HVAC contractor in West Palm Beach, Florida is seeking an experienced Air Conditioning Mechanic to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills in service, repair, and installation of air conditioning systems for residential and commercial properties.

We're looking for a reliable, professional, and customer-focused technician who takes pride in their work and can ensure systems operate safely, efficiently, and in compliance with Florida codes and standards.

Qualifications and Skills:

· Install, maintain, and repair residential and commercial HVAC systems, including split systems, package units, condensers, air handlers, and ductwork.

· Diagnose issues with compressors, motors, fans, refrigerant leaks, thermostats, and controls.

· Perform preventive maintenance, cleaning coils, checking pressures, and replacing filters.

· Recharge refrigerants and ensure systems meet EPA and manufacturer standards.

· Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams.

· Communicate clearly with customers regarding findings, recommendations, and service options.

· Maintain accurate service tickets, time logs, and material usage.

· Follow Florida Building Code and EPA Section 608 regulations for refrigerant handling.

· Maintain a clean and organized work area, company vehicle, and tools.

· Uphold all company safety policies and OSHA requirements.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3–5 years of HVAC experience in installation and service.
  • Strong knowledge of residential and light commercial A/C systems.
  • EPA Section 608 certification required.
  • Valid Florida Driver's License with clean driving record.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple service calls daily.
  • Excellent communication and troubleshooting skills.
  • HVAC trade school certification or equivalent field experience preferred.
  • Must be able to lift 50+ lbs and work in attics, rooftops, and outdoor environments
