Position Overview:

We are seeking a reliable, engaging, and patient Weekend Activity Assistant to join our team. This role supports our residents through meaningful, structured, and therapeutic activities designed specifically for individuals with memory loss. The ideal candidate will bring creativity, warmth, and strong communication skills to our weekend programs.

Requirements:

  • Memory care or dementia-related experience required
  • CNA certification preferred (not required, but highly valued)
  • Ability to lead, plan, and assist with group and individual activities
  • Comfortable engaging residents with varying cognitive abilities
  • Dependable, positive, and team-oriented
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to collaborate with floor aides, and other team members
  • Must be compassionate, patient, and resident-centered

Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate daily scheduled activities such as crafts, music, games, exercise, sensory stimulation, and social events
  • Provide one-on-one engagement for residents needing individual attention
  • Assist with transporting residents to and from activity spaces
  • Document participation and resident engagement per community standards
  • Help create a warm, inclusive, and uplifting weekend environment
  • Support activity planning and preparation as needed
  • Work collaboratively with care staff to ensure resident safety and participation
  • Communicate any resident changes or concerns to appropriate team members
