About The Role

Join Motive as a Senior Electrical Engineer in our Sustaining Engineering organization and become a vital part of our dynamic hardware team. We're seeking someone who not only excels in technology but also thrives on making a real difference in the world. In this role you will take charge of developing and implementing innovative test strategies, tackling intricate hardware issues head-on, and devising ingenious solutions.

Become exceptional in supporting Motive's customers and product line through analysis of the field performance of our products. In this role, you'll champion prioritization, driven by data and measurable metrics, all while championing engineering excellence within the Sustaining Engineering team. What You'll Do

Embark on a satisfying journey through the realm of electrical engineering, where innovation and cutting-edge technology converge. Dive deep into the intricacies of electrical architectures, schematics, and layouts and drive to an understanding of how our products perform in the field and how we can steadily improve that performance. Lead efforts for failure analysis related to field issues and mentor younger engineers in troubleshooting, failure analysis and system performance measurement.

Collaborate closely with our support and engineering teams to unlock the secrets behind field failures, immersing yourself in the dynamic challenges of asset trackers, vehicle gateways, cameras, and IoT devices. Together, we'll drive to the highest possible quality and highest levels of customer satisfaction with our products.

Seize the reins and shape the future with your expertise, crafting electrical test plans and strategies tailored to the unique demands of our diverse product line. Dig into data and drive test approaches that foster continuous improvements in our products.

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Passionate about hands on experience and desire to work directly with electronic systems
  • 7-10 years of experience as a hardware engineer in design and/or field support
  • Demonstrated domain knowledge in electronics development, test and debug
  • Experience testing wireless technologies such as WIFI, BT, GPS, etc.
  • Experience with digital circuit design and various communications interfaces such as I2C, UART, SPI, USB, MIPI, I2S, DDR, eMMC, NAND flash etc.
  • Experience with debug and failure analysis is required
  • Experience with cameras, batteries, and other sensors is a plus

NOTE:
This is an onsite, hybrid role in Buffalo, NY. 3-4 days a week in office.

Pay Transparency

Your compensation may be based on several factors, including education, work experience, and certifications. For certain roles, total compensation may include restricted stock units. The compensation range for this position will depend on where you reside. For this role, the compensation range is:

United States

$148,000—$185,000 USD
