FLSA Status: Part Time/Temporary

Apavo is a small, fast-growing cybersecurity services company supporting federal agencies across DoD and the Intelligence Community. We're looking for a part-time proposal writer who can help us shape clear, compelling, and well-structured proposal content for RFIs, RFPs, and partner submissions.

This is an ongoing, part-time role. Workload will vary week-to-week depending on open opportunities.

Duties & Responsibilities:

You'll support our team by:

  • Writing and editing proposal sections based on raw notes, SME input, or technical drafts.
  • Turning technical material into clear, persuasive narrative.
  • Drafting structured responses to RFIs, RFPs, SOW/PWS requirements.
  • Polishing and rewriting content for clarity, organization, grammar, and flow.
  • Helping build our internal library of reusable proposal content.
  • Assisting with compliance checks and ensuring responses align with requirements.
  • Formatting and organizing sections (not desktop publishing — just clean structure).

You will not be responsible for pricing work, graphics design, or full proposal management. This role is solely focused on writing and narrative development.

Qualifications & Experience:

Ideal candidates will bring:

  • Proven experience writing federal proposals.
  • Excellent writing, editing, and structuring skills.
  • Ability to take "rough" technical information and turn it into clear, professional content.
  • Ability to write in a concise, compliant, and organized style.
  • Comfortable working under quick-turn deadlines when needed.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and reliability.
  • Familiarity with government contracting terminology.
  • Understanding of federal proposal formats (Tech Volume, Management Volume, Past Performance, etc.).
  • Experience writing for cybersecurity, IT, or technical fields is a bonus.

Estimated Workload:

  • Part-time, as-needed.
  • Long-term ongoing support expected.
  • Flexible schedule as long as deadlines are met.
