Mechanical Engineering Manager

Engineering Manager Primary Responsibilities:
- Lead the development and continuous improvement of products, manufacturing processes, and testing protocols.
- Manage engineering and technical staff by assigning tasks, setting priorities, and ensuring deliverables align with company goals.
- Oversee project planning, logistics, and resource allocation to ensure efficient execution.
- Drive improvements in efficiency, sustainability, and waste reduction across designs and operations.
- Identify and secure resources needed for team success, including capital investment proposals.
- Develop and manage project budgets, and implement cost-control strategies.
- Represent the company at trade shows, conferences, and supplier site visits.
- Advocate for team needs by ensuring appropriate tools, staffing, and support are in place.
- Maintain up-to-date technical knowledge within the industry and apply best practices.
- Ensure all engineering processes meet quality, safety, and compliance standards.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with leadership, sales, production, and service teams.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and customers.
Engineering Manager Secondary Responsibilities:
- Support product installation and testing at customer locations.
- Assist with prototype builds and production support when needed.
- Participate in assembly, light fabrication, and material handling, including forklift and truck/trailer operations.
Engineering Manager Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, or a related field.
- 10+ years of mechanical design experience.
- Proven project management and personnel leadership skills.
- Expert knowledge of relevant technologies, manufacturing methods, and industry practices.
- Strong strategic thinking, critical problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Effective communicator with strong interpersonal and conflict resolution skills.
- Skilled in mentoring, team development, and fostering collaboration.
- Detail-oriented with excellent planning, organization, and documentation skills.
- Adaptable and resourceful, with a willingness to explore new approaches when challenges arise.
- Proficiency in CAD platforms and ERP systems.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience using presentation tools to communicate complex ideas to non-technical stakeholders.
- Demonstrated integrity, initiative, and strong work ethic.
