A long-standing leader in the critical power industry is seeking a Lead UPS Field Service Technician to join their field team based, supporting commercial and mission-critical clients across New England. This company has built its reputation over three decades by delivering rock-solid reliability, exceptional customer service, and technical excellence in uninterruptible power systems, battery plants, and power distribution gear.
This is a field leadership role, ideal for a seasoned UPS technician or electrical systems specialist ready to take ownership of complex projects, guide less-experienced techs, and represent a trusted name in the critical power world.
Overview:
- As a Lead UPS Field Service Technician, you'll be the point person for installation, startup, maintenance, and repair of UPS systems and related infrastructure. You'll work independently and alongside a tight-knit technical team on sites ranging from data centers and hospitals to industrial facilities and government operations.

Responsibilities:
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on UPS systems, batteries, and power distribution equipment.
- Execute initial power-up, calibration, and operational verification for new installs.
- Diagnose and repair down to the component level, minimizing downtime in mission-critical environments.
- Coordinate on-site activities, manage small installation teams, and ensure safety compliance.
- Communicate findings clearly, provide system education, and recommend proactive solutions.
- Complete field reports, service tickets, and expense documentation with accuracy and timeliness.
- Support and train junior technicians, fostering a culture of quality and accountability.
- Identify potential upgrade opportunities and relay them to sales and engineering teams.
Skills:
- Experience servicing UPS systems or other critical power equipment.
- Solid foundation in electronics, electrical systems, or power distribution, formal training or equivalent experience required.
- Comfortable working solo in the field and making sound technical decisions under pressure.
