What you'll do

As a Project Engineer, you'll help with projects that require you to apply standard practices and techniques. You'll also:

» Assist with the design and development of transportation projects, including roadway geometrics, intersections, roundabouts and pavement.

» Prepare plans, specifications, cost estimates, design reports and quantities.

» Perform calculations for grading, drainage, stormwater, pavement and traffic operations.

» Develop design elements using Civil 3D.

» Coordinate with survey, environmental, structural and municipal teams.

» Assist with permitting, utility coordination, agency submissions and quality assurance and quality control processes.

» Participate in client meetings, stakeholder discussions and internal reviews.

» Support construction administration tasks such as submittal review, requests for information and field observations.

What it takes

Ideally, you'll have a bachelor's or master's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field. If you have one to five years of experience in transportation engineering or municipal design, we want to talk. You'll have a leg up if you're licensed Professional Engineer or Professional Traffic Operations Engineer or if you demonstrate the ability to secure licensure shortly after your start date. Department of Transportation experience is a plus. Ideally, you will also:

» Have working knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D.

» Understand roadway design principles and municipal project requirements.

» Have strong analytical, problem-solving and technical design skills.

» Be a strong communicator.

» Manage priorities and meet deadlines.

» Desire to grow into project management and client-facing responsibilities.

» Be a team player.
