The equity derivatives trading desk is looking to hire a Senior Associate or VP -level candidate to support a large and growing ETN business. Candidates should be ready for immediate responsibility and accountability for results.  Specific responsibilities of this position will include:

  • Execute and monitor index-related trades in equities as well as equity and interest-rate derivatives.
  • Assist in managing index rebalance and corporate action events, and handling operational risks around them.
  • Work with senior traders to hedge and manage liquidity, gap, financing, and operational risk.
  • Develop and maintain analytical tools to support trading strategies, P&L analysis, and market monitoring.
  • Conduct research on exchange-traded product market structure, liquidity trends, and new product developments. 
  • Evaluate and understand the qualities of different equity derivatives to optimize portfolio's positions under different market scenarios.
  • Provide pricing, liquidity, and market color to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Identifies opportunities for increased efficiency and improved service to internal and external clients and acts as a positive change agent to drive improved efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Ensure compliance with internal risk limits, regulatory requirements, and best execution standards.
  • Interfacing with internal support groups to support all necessary business functions.

Qualifications:

  • Typically between 3 - 6 years of experience trading derivatives and post-secondary degree in related field of study or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Degree in Engineering/Mathematics/Statistics, CFA preferred.
  • Strong understanding on equity market structure, index mechanics, and derivative instruments.
  • Series 7, 63, and 55 licenses.
  • Attention to detail - exceptional numerical, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Preferred Skills:

  • Proficiency in programming in Python, SQL, or VBA preferred.
  • Exposure to index rebalancing, corporate action handling, or portfolio transition management.
  • Experience with risk models, transaction cost analysis, and execution management system.

Base Salary Range:

Associate: USD $140,000 – 180,000

VP: USD $260,000

Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles, the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Group's expected target for the first year in this position.

BMO Financial Group's total compensation package will vary based on the pay type of the position and may include performance-based incentives, discretionary bonuses, as well as other perks and rewards.
