Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Asphalt Screed Operator to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will have experience operating heavy construction equipment and a strong background in asphalt paving. This role involves overseeing the precise application of asphalt and ensuring smooth, level surfaces on various projects. The Asphalt Screed Operator plays a vital part in delivering high-quality paving results on time and within safety standards.
Duties
- Operate asphalt screed equipment to lay asphalt surfaces with accuracy and efficiency. Attention to detail is a must
- Coordinate with crew members to ensure proper placement and compaction of asphalt materials
- Perform routine maintenance and inspections on paving machinery to ensure optimal operation
- Operate additional heavy machinery including loaders, excavators, dump trucks, and commercial vehicles
- Follow safety protocols at all times to maintain a secure work environment
- Maintain detailed records of work performed and materials used during paving projects
Qualifications
- Proven experience operating heavy equipment such as screed, loaders, excavators, and dump trucks
- Mechanical knowledge related to construction machinery maintenance and troubleshooting
- Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) preferred for operating commercial vehicles and dump trucks, but not required.
- Strong understanding of construction safety standards and practices
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and lift heavy materials when necessary
- Prior experience in paving or asphalt installation is highly desirable
- MUST BE DEPENDABLE AND RELIABLE
This position offers an opportunity to contribute to large-scale infrastructure projects while working within a professional construction environment. Candidates with a background in asphalt paving, site operations, or heavy equipment operation are encouraged to apply. We are a small company so everyone pitches in where needed.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $ $27.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 60 per week
