Position Summary
The Crisis Response Specialist, under professional supervision, accepts direct calls from Community Response Network (CRN), law enforcement, first responders and supervisors for prompt community response on a flexible schedule that may include providing client transport to medically necessary services and well checks.
Crisis Response Specialist is able to perform crisis assessments in the community and ED, has strong verbal and written clinical skills, is able to staff cases for inpatient and safe plans with BHMP's and supervisors. Able to work closely with law enforcement, first responders, persons receiving crisis services and their supports under stressful situations at all hours in a professional and calm manor. Crisis Response Specialist is able to write Title 36 applications, has broad knowledge of A.R.S., area resources, funding streams and insurances to either place clients in community with supports, in network or other hospitals according to the level of care needed.
Opening for 2 full time positions in the Prescott/Prescott Valley region. Night and weekend shifts are eligible for shift pay. As a community-based position, significant travel will be required and we provide company vehicles and/or mileage reimbursement for this purpose.
Required Qualifications
For the level 1 Crisis Response Specialist, employees must be either a Behavioral Health Paraprofessional or a Behavioral Health Technician (for criteria see below).
A BHPP for Spectrum has minimum of a high school diploma and at least 6 weeks of experience/training in a behavioral health field or 6 weeks continuous on-site direction from a behavioral health professional, Behavioral Health Technician or Behavioral Health Paraprofessional who has at least 6 months behavioral health work experience.
OR
The BHT for Spectrum will be an individual who has a minimum of a high school diploma and at least 2 years of behavioral health experience OR, b. An individual with a bachelor's degree (any) or BHT Certification from an accredited institution and at least 4 years of experience in behavioral health. OR, c. An individual with a bachelor's or master's degree in a human services related field.
- Excellent customer service and client care
- Must support an access to care model
- Have or ability to obtain a Level I Fingerprint Clearance Card
- Maintain current AZ driver's license with acceptable driving recordIf position is required to drive for business reasons, employee must be at least 18 years of age with an acceptable driving record
- Maintain approved CPR/First Aid certification
- Successfully pass background check and drug screen
- Microsoft Office/Internet proficiency and excellent computer skills
- Intermediate knowledge of DSM V diagnostic criteria and demonstrated ability to present clinical case presentation and signs/symptoms of a mental illness diagnosis.
- Demonstrated ability to provide comprehensive and clinically appropriate crisis assessment and intervention activities.
- Basic understanding of common health problems and interventions (i.e. obesity, smoking, nutrition, health promotion/wellness) and demonstration of skills in behavior health change.
- Excellent customer service skills. Ability to interact with clients, personnel, and outside agencies calmly, logically, and respectfully utilizing cultural competency.
- Ability to professionally document progress notes in a timely manner.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Ability to maintain professional boundaries.
- Ability to effectively prioritize workload.
- Ability to use various types of office equipment (personal computer, photocopier, fax).
