Medical Records Director

Your Role:

• Oversee, organize, and maintain a complete and accurate medical records system for all residents
• Ensure the confidentiality and security of all health information, following HIPAA and facility guidelines
• Review and process medical record requests, referring any questionable releases for appropriate review
• Ensure timely filing and maintenance of all medical documentation, reports, and correspondence
• Monitor record accuracy and completeness to support survey readiness and compliance
• Prepare reports and assist in maintaining required statistical and management data
• Support quality assurance and improvement efforts by participating in chart audits and reviews
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure accurate and up-to-date documentation of resident care
• Provide training and guidance to staff on medical record procedures and standards
• Perform clerical duties such as filing, data entry, and assisting with resident appointment scheduling as needed

Who We're Looking For:

• Experience in medical records or health information management, preferably in long-term care or healthcare settings
• Knowledge of HIPAA, state, and federal regulations related to health information management
• Strong organizational and communication skills with excellent attention to detail
• Proficient in electronic health record (EHR) systems
• RHIT or related certification preferred
• A dependable, accountable, and team-oriented professional committed to excellence in recordkeeping and resident care
