Position Summary

The Golf Service Set-Up Attendant is responsible for preparing and maintaining the daily course set-up to ensure optimal playing conditions and exceptional golfer experience. Duties include setting tee markers, cutting and changing hole locations, maintaining course accessories, and assisting with general course presentation.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Set up and adjust tee markers daily according to the established rotation schedule.
  • Cut new holes and change cups on greens in accordance with course rotation and USGA standards.
  • Maintain pin placements, ensuring accuracy and uniformity.
  • Inspect, clean, and reposition ball washers, tee signage, benches, and water stations as needed.
  • Check sand trap conditions and ensure rakes are properly placed.
  • Remove debris, fallen branches, or litter from course surfaces.
  • Assist with mowing, trimming, and edging as directed.
  • Monitor for course damage and report issues (divots, leaks, vandalism, etc.) to supervisors.
  • Maintain safe and orderly use of course maintenance equipment.
  • Support tournament and special event preparations including tee signs, markers, and pin sheets.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Understanding of golf course playability and etiquette.
  • Ability to operate basic golf course tools and small equipment safely.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to presentation standards.
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently in early-morning conditions.
  • Effective communication with Golf Operations and Maintenance teams.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift, pull, move, or assist with lifting awkward or heavy objects weighing 25 pounds or more.
  • Frequent bending, stooping, kneeling, walking, and standing for extended periods on hard or uneven surfaces.
  • Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions, including heat, humidity, sun exposure, and occasional rain.
  • Requires good manual dexterity, balance, and stamina to perform all essential functions safely and efficiently.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous golf course maintenance or set-up experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of cup cutter operation and proper hole placement.
