Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Hygienist to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care, ensuring optimal oral health for our patients. You will work closely with the dental team to deliver preventive and therapeutic services, while also educating patients about oral hygiene and overall health.
Duties
- Conduct thorough dental cleanings and examinations to assess oral health.
- Apply preventive materials such as sealants and fluoride treatments.
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) as needed.
- Document patient care and treatment plans accurately in medical records.
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and the importance of regular dental visits.
- Assist in the management of patient records while adhering to HIPAA regulations.
- Collaborate with dentists to provide comprehensive care, including pediatric dentistry when necessary.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the dental operatory and instruments.
Skills
- Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality practices.
- Proficient in medical terminology related to dentistry and patient care.
- Experience or knowledge in pediatric dentistry is a plus.
- Familiarity with medical records management systems and dental terminology.
- Competence in medical imaging techniques relevant to dental practices.
- Ability to perform dental assisting tasks as needed, supporting the dentist during procedures.
- Excellent communication skills, with a focus on patient education and care.
