Intermodal CDL A Owner Operator - 2 years of intermodal Experience

Overview

R2R Intermodal is seeking experienced Owner Operators with their own trucks to operate in the Chicago/Joliet area, servicing ports and rail yards. As part of R2R Intermodal, you'll join a technology-driven logistics company that simplifies intermodal freight through real-time tracking, proactive communication, and a streamlined process focused on both clients and drivers. Our owner operators are the backbone of our operation.

Intermodal CDL A Owner Operator - 2 years of intermodal Experience Compensation

  • Average weekly pay: up to $5,000
  • Weekly pay. Always on time with no delays or surprise, with clear and accurate statements always accessible
  • Bonuses:
  • $500 sign-on bonus paid after 90 days
  • $500 referral bonus paid after the referred driver works 90 days
  • Safety rewards: bonuses for 100% DOT inspection passes
  • Additional pay:
  • Chassis split pay
  • Prepull pay
  • Detention Pay (at warehouse and terminal)
  • Dry runs pay
  • Bobtail

Intermodal CDL A Owner Operator - 2 years of intermodal Experience

Home Time, Location & Operation

  • Location: Chicago/Joliet area
  • Home Time: Daily
  • Operation: Ports and rail yards
  • Level of Touch: No touch freight

Equipment Requirements

  • Must have and drive your own truck
  • Model year 2000 or newer
  • ELD compatible
  • Must be able to pass federal DOT inspection

Qualifications

  • Minimum 21 years old with a valid CDL A drivers license
  • At least 2 years of CDL A driving experience, preferably in intermodal (ports/railyards)
  • Authorized to work in the U.S and be able to speak fluent English
  • Clean MVR and PSP records
  • Valid DOT Medical Card
  • All truck paperwork must be current.
  • Maintain compliance with DOT regulations at all times
  • Strong problem-solving and adaptability skills
  • Basic Tech literacy (use of ELDs, email, mobile apps, etc.)
  • Familiarity with rail yard procedures, chassis handling, and port protocols
  • Trucks must be 2000 model year or newer and able to pass DOT inspection
