Position Summary:

Position involves weighing and recording data of clean hospital linen so that customers can be properly billed for the laundering services performed.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Scale Operator responsibilities
  • Scale and enter proper counts for loaded linen carts.
  • Ensure that the product is loaded in the carts appropriately and in the correct customer carts.
  • Send back carts that are loaded incorrectly and/or mislabeled.
  • Compare delivered lean weight to receive soil weight.
  • Communicate with Plant Manager and/or Production Manager about any product or delivery.
  • Schedule issues that arise during shift.
  • Print final delivery receipt after Plant Manager confirms customer completion.
  • Complete end of shift report.

Work Experience Requirements:

  • Basic computer skills
  • Ability to keep correct paperwork
  • Proficient in English language, able to read, write and communicate.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and managers.
  • Work at a sustained pace and produce quality work.
  • Organized and detail oriented
  • Reliable, dependable and trustworthy in all aspects of work.
  • Work under pressure and able to complete assigned tasks under stressful situations.
  • Work alone and/or with others as a team effectively.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employees must stand at least 8 hours per day or more if needed, walk through the plant, use their arms and hands to reach while cleaning, talk and communicate to co-workers and/or supervisors, and visually inspect items for cleanliness. The employee must be able to move carts of linen weighing 50 pounds or less within the plant to work around them if needed.

Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to extreme heat during the summer months and a cold climate during the winter months. The air quality is subject to having lint in the air from the linen all year round.
