Magnetic Ticket & Label (MTL) is seeking a talented and detail-oriented Graphics Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing files to industry specifications, designing and ensuring high-quality graphic designs for various print materials. The Graphics Specialist will take direction from the Prepress Manager and collaborate with customer service to produce art that meet both creative and technical standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Layout & Design: Layout and design graphics for print various print projects. Ensure designs are visually appealing, aligned with brand guidelines, and optimized for print production.
  • Pre-Press Preparation: Prepare and proof files for printing, ensuring all artwork is correctly formatted, color profiles are accurate, and that all technical specifications meet production standards.
  • Collaboration Teams: Work closely with the Prepress team and customer service to understand the customer design needs and deliver tailored solutions. Coordinate with the production team to ensure designs translate well from digital to print.
  • File Management: Follow and maintain the file system for artwork, templates, and proofs. Ensure all files are properly archived for easy retrieval.
  • Quality Control: Review proofs and samples, ensuring all designs are error-free and print-ready. Make adjustments as needed based on client feedback or technical issues during the printing process.
  • Maintain Current Knowledge of Trends: Stay updated on design trends, new software, and print technologies to bring fresh and innovative ideas to the company's projects.
  • Support Production: Assist the production team with any design-related issues, including troubleshooting or making last-minute adjustments before going to print.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Visual Arts, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in graphic design, preferably in a printing or production environment.
  • Skills:
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, Acrobat).
  • Solid understanding of prepress processes, color management, and file formats for print production (PDF, TIFF, JPEG, CMYK).
  • Knowledge of printing techniques, materials, and processes (offset, digital, large format, etc.).
  • Strong typography and layout skills.
  • Attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills to work with clients and team members.
  • Bonus Skills:
  • Familiarity with 3D rendering, modeling or packaging design.
  • Ability to work with file prep tools (Imposition Software).

Working Conditions:

  • Work Environment: Office-based in a secure facility with access to design software and printing equipment. Must pass background check and drug screening.
  • Hours: 8-hour day shift hours with occasional overtime required to meet deadlines.
  • Physical Demands: Primarily office-based work. Occasional standing or moving of materials as needed.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $ $30.00 per hour
