Supervisor: Lead Pastor
The Associate Pastor plays a key role in discipleship, community connection, and leadership development at Summit Park Church. This role focuses on helping people find belonging, take spiritual next steps, and grow as leaders through small groups, hospitality, prayer ministry, and discipleship pathways. The big win for this role is a growing and thriving culture of connection where people feel seen, known, and equipped to follow Jesus.
Key ResponsibilitiesSmall Groups & Community Life
· Support and implement church-wide small group strategies
· Recruit, train, and develop small group leaders and coaches
· Encourage small groups to engage in local outreach and service
· Collaborate in the organization and promotion of seasonal group launches
· Provide coaching, care, and conflict resolution within small groups
· Increase participation, ownership, and overall group health
Connections & Hospitality
· Help lead hospitality and prayer teams with excellence and care
· Recruit, train, and encourage volunteers into service roles
· Support scheduling systems to ensure full coverage and smooth execution
· Assist with onboarding processes, training events, and follow-up
· Partner with the Connections team to improve processes and guest experience
· Provide oversight and support for weekend hospitality operations
Discipleship & Growth Pathways
· Recruit and develop volunteers and leaders passionate about discipleship
· Help execute strategy for discipleship environments and initiatives
· Provide logistical and administrative support for discipleship events
· Encourage next steps and spiritual development among new believers
· Help monitor attendance and effectiveness of discipleship pathways
· Offer leadership and problem-solving for discipleship teams
Weekend Leadership
· Provide strong lobby and service presence to foster relational connection
· Be visible, approachable, and engaged with guests and volunteers
· Attend at least one complete service with active participation and leadership presence
Required Skills & Competencies
· Ability to lead and influence leaders
· Strong interpersonal and communication skills
· Problem-solving and conflict resolution ability
· Attention to detail and strong administrative abilities
· Familiarity with Microsoft Office and database systems (preferred)
Education & Experience
· Bachelor's degree preferred
· High school diploma required
· 5 years of ministry experience preferred
Expectations
· Available for ministry activities two weeknights plus First Wednesday
· Demonstrate an active and growing personal walk with Jesus
· Regular participation in a small group
· Maintain healthy life and ministry boundaries to protect character
· Practice biblical generosity through tithing
· Actively seek opportunities to reach those far from God
