Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Medical Lab Technician to join our healthcare team in Detroit, MI. The ideal candidate will perform laboratory testing and analysis to assist physicians in diagnosing, treating, and preventing disease. This is a contract position offering a professional work environment with opportunities for continued growth.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Perform a variety of laboratory tests, including hematology, chemistry, urinalysis, microbiology, and immunology.
  • Prepare, process, and analyze specimens in accordance with standard laboratory procedures.
  • Accurately record and report test results to ensure quality and reliability.
  • Maintain and calibrate laboratory instruments and equipment regularly.
  • Adhere to all laboratory safety and infection control procedures.
  • Assist in maintaining laboratory inventory and ordering supplies as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and institutional regulations and guidelines.
  • Collaborate effectively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Participate in quality assurance and quality control programs.
  • Maintain detailed and organized documentation for all laboratory activities.

Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or related field.
  • Current MLT (ASCP or AMT) certification preferred.
  • Minimum of one year of recent laboratory experience.
  • Strong knowledge of laboratory techniques, equipment, and safety standards.
  • Excellent attention to detail, analytical thinking, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work flexible, rotational shifts as scheduled.

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $ $45.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
