Medical Coder and Biller

***Please note: At least 4-5 years of experience is required. This position would start part-time and transition to full-time once the employee is working independently and when the employer is ready, so applicants should have that availability.

We are a growing medical practice across Southwest Florida with locations in Lehigh Acres, Immokalee, Belle Glade, Auburndale, Fort Myers and Leesburg. Our providers are par with FL Medicaid, Medicare, Cigna, Aetna, BCBS, United Healthcare, Oscar, and more.

We seeking an experienced and thorough medical coder and biller who is experienced in HEDIS guidelines and managed care. Must have a strong understanding in care management and risk adjustment to allow for accurate and detailed coding claims for full-risk insurance contracts.

Basic Expectations:

  • Properly coding services, procedures, diagnoses, and treatments
  • Preparing and sending invoices or claims for payment
  • Correcting rejected claims
  • Cleanly maintaining accounts receivable, tracking and posting payments, updating patient balances, etc.
  • Following up with patients and insurance companies about outstanding bills.
  • Screen medical documentation and coding to capture all billable services and all reporting/meaningful use codes, and work with our team of providers and management to maximize revenue and quality.

Our EHR is eMedical Practice and claims are completely and posted via this system. Experience with eMedical is a major plus but training is provided when needed. We are currently open to multiple scheduling arrangements and options for hourly vs salary vs percentage compensation. (2-4 days/week) on-site at out Fort Myers location.
