As a Kitchen Team Member at Pullman Market, you'll be a vital part of both our commercial production kitchen and our quick-service restaurant (QSR) team. This dynamic role blends culinary precision with guest-facing service, ensuring smooth kitchen operations, high food quality, and exceptional hospitality. You'll collaborate with fellow team members to uphold our values of professionalism, cleanliness, teamwork, and excellence in a fast-paced environment.

Operational Responsibilities:

Production Kitchen Duties:

  • Prepare and cook menu items according to standardized recipes and production schedules.
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen equipment, utensils, and work surfaces.
  • Organize and manage inventory of food supplies to support production needs while minimizing waste.
  • Follow procedures for receiving, storing, and rotating ingredients and products.
  • Adhere to portion control guidelines to ensure consistency and control food costs.
  • Assist in developing and testing new recipes and production processes.
  • Monitor equipment performance and report maintenance needs.
  • Follow all safety and hygiene protocols, including proper food handling and storage.

QSR Restaurant Duties:

  • Work 4–5 days a week in the restaurant, maintaining a quick, efficient, and safe pace.
  • Follow company training programs and demonstrate proficiency in using a POS system.
  • Take customer orders accurately and handle credit card and cash payments securely.
  • Taste, monitor, rotate, and track food in assigned stations.
  • Communicate daily with management regarding inventory needs and low stock.
  • Keep workstations and the overall restaurant clean and organized throughout shifts.
  • Wear clean, unwrinkled uniform items daily.
  • Minimize waste and contribute to operational efficiency.
  • Deliver outstanding guest service and hospitality to ensure a welcoming experience.

Team & Communication Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure efficient workflow and timely production.
  • Support teammates through mentorship and training.
  • Maintain high morale and a positive outlook.
  • Use strong verbal and non-verbal communication to relay information effectively.
  • Be an ambassador for the company and maintain professionalism in and outside of work.

Personal Requirements:

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness and organization.
  • Ability to follow recipes accurately and consistently produce high-quality food.
  • Excellent time management and task prioritization skills.
  • Basic math skills for measuring ingredients and calculating portions.
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Willingness to learn, undergo training, and follow company procedures.
  • Positive attitude and ability to maintain high morale in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively.
  • Familiarity with office equipment (phones, computers, fax machines, copiers) may be required.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged standing, bending, stooping, twisting, and repetitive hand/wrist movements.
  • Lifting objects up to 45 pounds.
  • Exposure to hot, cold, and potentially hazardous equipment.
