Job Overview

We are seeking a friendly and motivated Sales Associate to join our retail team. The ideal candidate will have excellent customer service skills, strong communication abilities, and a passion for helping customers find the right products. This role involves engaging with shoppers, demonstrating products, and ensuring a positive shopping experience. Previous experience in retail sales, cashiering, or grocery stores is preferred. Bilingual skills are a plus to assist a diverse customer base. The Sales Associate will play a key role in maintaining an organized sales floor and supporting store operations.

Responsibilities

  • Greet customers warmly and provide exceptional customer service throughout their shopping experience
  • Assist customers with product inquiries, product demos, and upselling to enhance sales opportunities
  • Operate POS systems accurately for transactions including cash handling and credit card processing
  • Maintain merchandising standards by stocking shelves, organizing displays, and ensuring products are well-presented
  • Conduct inventory checks and assist with stock replenishment as needed
  • Manage cashier duties efficiently while adhering to cash handling procedures
  • Apply retail math skills for pricing, discounts, and transaction totals
  • Use effective phone etiquette when communicating with customers or vendors
  • Support supervising staff in overseeing daily store operations when required
  • Promote store promotions and special offers to increase sales

Requirements

  • Previous experience in retail sales, grocery stores, or similar environments is preferred
  • Strong communication skills and excellent phone etiquette
  • Ability to perform basic math calculations accurately for cashiering and inventory management
  • Experience with POS systems and cash handling procedures
  • Demonstrated ability to upsell products and provide product demos to customers
  • Bilingual abilities are a plus to serve a diverse clientele effectively
  • Supervising experience is desirable but not mandatory; leadership qualities are valued
  • Customer service-oriented mindset with a friendly attitude
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts including weekends if needed
