Primary Services is actively recruiting for a
Crude Operations Analyst
to support a major player in the energy industry. In this role, you will be responsible for recording, tracking, and settling crude oil transactions from purchase to delivery. The
Crude Operations Analyst
ensures the integrity of all operational data, reconciles complex movements, and provides critical analysis that informs both commercial and financial outcomes. This position offers the chance to contribute to a fast-paced and highly visible team that plays a vital role in the company's trading operations.
Responsibilities:
- Record, track, and reconcile the physical movement of crude oil from origin to destination.
- Ensure accurate and timely data entry and validation within internal systems.
- Settle monthly crude transactions and verify counterparties' balances and statements.
- Analyze operational and commercial implications of crude movements and volume allocations.
- Manage and prevent losses by identifying and addressing profit leakage.
- Review and reconcile complex accounting deals, pipeline statements, and quality bank reports.
- Research and resolve unsettled items within trade capture and accounting systems.
- Support monthly close processes by reconciling inventories and assisting with volume variance analysis.
- Collaborate with financial, trading, and logistics teams to ensure data accuracy and operational efficiency.
- Identify and address root causes of discrepancies and drive continuous process improvement.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2–5 years of experience in crude operations, pipeline scheduling, hydrocarbon accounting, or energy trading support.
- Strong analytical and reporting skills with advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Experience with trade capture or ERP systems such as Endur, LPS, or SAP preferred.
- Familiarity with complex pricing structures, quality banks, and crude pipeline systems.
- Proven ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail with a focus on data accuracy.
