Position Summary
This is a professional position in State Office Human Resources (HR) and is responsible for independently performing a variety of human resource duties. These duties require comprehensive knowledge of Agency policies, procedures, goals, and programs within the Agency relating to human resources.
This position spends the majority of their time communicating with, motivating, training, and evaluating employees, and planning and directing employees' work, and who have the authority to hire, transfer, suspend, lay off, recall, promote, discharge, assign, reward, or discipline subordinate employees or effectively recommend such action, including all employees serving as supervisors, administrators, and directors.
The Work You Will Do
Coordinate various attendance and leave programs such as FMLA, FSWP, and Workers' Compensation.
Coordinate essential tasks of facilitating new employee orientation, direct deposit compliance, preparing and analyzing various HR reports utilizing various electronic platforms.
Coordinate logistics for training sessions and New Employee Orientation (NEO), including scheduling, booking venues or virtual rooms, and managing invites. Prepare training materials, support trainers and facilitators.
Coordinate audits and internal reviews by retrieving and providing requested documentation.
Maintain employee records via electronic platforms.
Required Qualifications
- Must possess a high school diploma or its equivalent.
- Must possess one year of experience in human resources.
- High attention to detail, confidentiality, and excellent organizational skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
- A valid driver's license.
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
Knowledge of:
Basic principles of personnel administration.
One or more personnel program functions such as selection, classification, and pay, employee benefits, labor relations, employer/employee relations, or training.
Principles and techniques of effective communication.
Methods of data collection.
Ability to:
Collect, evaluate, and analyze data relating to personnel program functions.
Organize data into a logical format.
Compose correspondence.
Utilize problem-solving techniques.
Work independently.
Understand and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies, and procedures relating to personnel program functions.
Prepare reports relating to personnel program functions.
Plan, organize, and coordinate work assignments.
Use various electronic platforms.
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
Maintain confidential information and excellent attention to detail is required.

Direct Deposit Program
As a condition of employment, a person appointed to a position in the State Personnel System is required to participate in the Direct Deposit Program. Rather than receiving a paper paycheck, your funds will be deposited directly into your account at your financial institution. This will be accomplished by Electronic Funds Transfer. Banks, savings and loan associations, and credit unions are eligible to accept such deposits. Retirement funds are also required to be in the Direct Deposit Program.
Background Screening Requirement
It is the policy of the Florida Agency for Persons with Disabilities that applicants for employment undergo Level 2 employment screening in accordance with the requirements of Chapter 435, Florida Statutes, as a condition of employment or being permitted to serve as a volunteer.
