JOB OVERVIEW • Job Title: Emergency Medicine Physician • Job Type: Locum Tenens • Location: El Paso, TX • Service Setting: Inpatient • Coverage Type: Clinical Only • Coverage Period: 12/15/2025 – Ongoing • Clinical Shift Schedule: Flexible schedule COVERAGE DATES • Start Date: December 15, 2025 • End Date: Open/Ongoing • Credentialing Timeline: Not specified (cross -credentialed with Montwood and Horizon City campuses) PATIENT INFORMATION • Patient Demographics: Adults and Pediatrics • Admissions: Yes, per emergency department workflow • Phone Consults: As needed within emergency department • Case Mix: Full emergency medicine spectrum including trauma and stroke cases FACILITY INFORMATION • EMR System: PCC (in -person EMR training required prior to first shift) • Office Equipment Available: Standard ED setup • Specialty Backup Available: Full emergency physician coverage (cross credentialing with THOP Montwood and Horizon City) • Support Staff Available: Standard multidisciplinary ED support team • Reason for Coverage: Coverage need • Nearest Airport: El Paso International Airport (ELP) PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE • Hospital Privileges Required: Yes • Temporary Privileges Available: Not specified • Credentialing Timeline: Not specified • Compliance: Must complete in -person EMR training prior to first shift; maintain all immunization records (TB, Flu, Hep B, MMR, Varicella) • Continuing Education: 8 hours of Stroke CME and 8 hours of Trauma CME annually required COMPENSATION & BENEFITS • Travel, Lodging, and Malpractice Insurance: Not specified (assumed covered by agency) • Contract Type: Fixed, with daily and weekly OT options based on differential structure REQUIRED PROCEDURES • All standard emergency medicine procedures within ABEM scope of practice • Trauma and stroke management consistent with hospital protocols JOB REQUIREMENTS • Licenses: Active Texas State Medical License • Board: Board Certified or Board Eligible in ABEM or AOBEM (osteopathic equivalent) • DEA: Active DEA with Texas address • Certifications: ACLS, ATLS, PALS (current) • Experience: Residency trained and specialty certified in Emergency Medicine • Other Qualifications: Must submit CME (past 2 years), case logs (past 2 years), copies of all diplomas, SS card, driver's license, and color photo; immunization compliance required DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES • Provide comprehensive emergency medical care to all patients presenting to the ED • Evaluate, diagnose, and manage acute medical and trauma cases • Perform standard emergency medicine procedures • Collaborate with other ED physicians and staff for seamless patient care • Maintain accurate documentation in PCC EMR system following in -person EMR training • Participate in ongoing hospital CME requirements and credentialing processes • Cross -credentialed to work across THOP Montwood and Horizon City campuses
