At Lendr, we are on a mission to redefine the lending landscape, and we're seeking a

**Director of Underwriting** to lead our underwriting team in achieving excellence and

profitability through innovative solutions. This pivotal role involves planning,

coordinating, monitoring, analyzing, and evaluating our underwriting operations to

support both new and existing business ventures. You will be instrumental in managing

all aspects of underwriting, including implementing processes and controls that drive

profitability for our active accounts through strategic rate adjustments, commission

modifications, and coverage enhancements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Development: Cultivate and enhance underwriting philosophies

and risk management controls that align with Lendr's business goals and

market trends.

  • Regulatory Compliance: Maintain a comprehensive understanding of

rules, rates, and forms for our products, ensuring compliance

  • Operational Excellence: Implement and execute operational plans that

ensure alignment with strategic objectives and corporate vision.

  • Team Leadership: Oversee high-level administrative functions,

including performance evaluations, staffing needs assessment, and

the design of training programs for future growth.

  • Management Reporting: Provide detailed reports and insights to

executive management regarding production metrics and

underwriting performance.

  • Technical Guidance: Offer expert advice on complex Funding

matters and support underwriting, marketing, and collections teams

with technical insights.

  • Market Analysis: Analyze market trends, competitor practices, and

pricing strategies, keeping management informed of significant

developments.

  • Staff Management: Directly supervise and mentor staff, facilitating

their professional development through coaching and performance

reviews.

  • Budget Oversight: Manage the departmental budget effectively to

ensure financial health and resource allocation.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • In-depth knowledge of lending business – small business lending

experience a plus.

  • Exceptional decision-making and active listening skills.

  • Proficient in critical thinking and analysis with keen attention to

detail.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Experience and Education:

  • Education: College

  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years in underwriting, including at least 3

years of managerial or supervisory experience demonstrating

leadership.

Department: Small Business Underwriting

  • Reports to: V.P. of Operations

  • FLSA Status: Exempt

  • Position Level: Management

Pay: $75, $90,000.00 per year
