Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Food Expeditor to join our dynamic culinary team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient flow of food from the kitchen to the dining area, maintaining high standards of food quality and presentation. This role is vital in delivering exceptional customer service and supporting the overall dining experience in a fast-paced restaurant environment. Previous experience in food service, restaurant operations, or hospitality is highly valued, along with strong communication skills and a commitment to food safety.

Duties

  • Coordinate between kitchen staff and serving team to ensure timely delivery of orders.
  • Verify that dishes are prepared correctly, garnished appropriately, and meet quality standards before serving.
  • Manage the plating and presentation of food items to ensure visual appeal.
  • Assist with food preparation tasks as needed, including portioning and garnishing.
  • Communicate effectively with kitchen staff regarding order status and special requests.
  • Support bussing duties by clearing tables and resetting dining areas efficiently.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in the expediting station to promote food safety and hygiene standards.
  • Ensure all food handling procedures comply with health regulations and safety protocols.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in food service, restaurant, or hospitality environments preferred.
  • Knowledge of food preparation, plating, and presentation techniques.
  • Familiarity with food safety standards and proper handling procedures.
  • Excellent communication skills to coordinate effectively with kitchen staff and servers.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced setting while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Experience with banquet service, hotel operations, or culinary roles is a plus.
  • Strong customer service orientation with a professional attitude.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize tasks, and remain calm under pressure.
