JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for administrative and clinical oversight of out-patient pharmacy including, but not limited to compliance with licensing requirements, state and federal regulations, ACHC standards and other compliance requirements. Ensures delivery of quality pharmacy services and data entry for inpatients and outpatients by computer entry, dispensing, examination of technician work and effective communications.
Creates and maintains budget, policies and procedures for out-patient pharmacy. Ensures compliance with objectives, performance improvement programs, safety, environmental, and infection control standards. Prepares required reports for out-patient pharmacy.
Compounds, labels, and packages medications and pharmaceuticals. Ensures secure storage of controlled substances on a regular basis.
Maintains compliance documentation in accordance to Indiana State law.
Advises JMH clinical staff, patients and families on the use of various medications including dosage side effects and composition.
Enhances professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, current literature, in-service meetings, committees, workshops, and maintains licensure in Indiana.
Assigns technicians in out-patient pharmacy, evaluates work performance, makes recommendations for personnel actions and assists with the training of new employee
Assists Pharmacy Director with maintenance of personnel requirements for Pharmacy staff including job descriptions, performance appraisals, disciplinary action, continuing education, and proficiency testing for compliance with federal, state and local regulations. Assists with employee selection, orientation, training and review. Provides appropriate staffing to perform out-patient pharmacy functions to meet expectations of customers.
Assists Pharmacy Director with maintenance of policies and procedures and compliance with objectives, performance improvement programs, safety, environmental and infection control for Pharmacy Department.
Performs other related duties.
Conducts all activities in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, standards, and hospital policies and procedures including Blood and Body Substance Precautions.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING:
Current and unrestricted State of Indiana Pharmacy license required. Two years of experience as a Pharmacist required.

Monday - Friday 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
75 hours per bi-weekly pay period.
