Accounting Manager / Controller

Location: Fort Lauderdale, FL (On-Site)

Compensation: $85,000 – $90,000 per annum

As we scale our operations, we are seeking a disciplined and proactive Accounting Manager / Controller to spearhead our financial department. Position Summary

The Accountant / Controller will serve as the financial steward of the company, overseeing all daily accounting functions, inventory valuation, and fiscal reporting. Reporting directly to ownership, the successful candidate will ensure the integrity of our financial data, optimize cash flow, and facilitate seamless month-end and year-end closings.

Strategic Responsibilities

Financial Stewardship & General Ledger

  • Direct all daily bookkeeping activities and maintain the general ledger via QuickBooks.
  • Execute rigorous bank reconciliations and manage complex journal entries.
  • Uphold financial record integrity in strict accordance with GAAP standards.

Strategic Reporting & Analysis

  • Orchestrate the preparation of comprehensive monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Synthesize balance sheets and cash flow data into actionable insights for executive leadership.
  • Provide data-driven recommendations to support long-term business objectives.

Treasury & Cash Management

  • Oversee working capital and implement robust expense control measures.
  • Lead the annual budgeting process and provide quarterly financial forecasting.
  • Collaborate with ownership to mitigate financial risk and enhance liquidity.

Operational Accounting (AP/AR & Inventory)

  • Manage the full Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable cycles, including vendor relations and customer billing.
  • Supervise progress payments and final settlements for vessel sales.
  • Maintain precise inventory accounting within Cin7, ensuring flawless synchronization with QuickBooks.
  • Analyze Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) and production expenditures for ongoing builds.

Warranty & Compliance

  • Monitor and report on warranty-related expenses to improve operational efficiency.
  • Liaise with external auditors and tax partners to ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to modernize internal controls.

Candidate Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • Experience: 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a Controller or Lead Accountant capacity.
  • Technical Proficiency: Advanced, hands-on mastery of QuickBooks is mandatory.
  • Systems Expertise: Prior experience with Cin7 or similar inventory management software is highly preferred.
  • Industry Knowledge: Background in manufacturing, marine, or inventory-heavy industries is considered a significant advantage.
  • Attributes: Exceptional organizational skills with a commitment to accuracy and a preference for a collaborative, in-office work culture.
